How Michigan Snowfall Impacts Your Home or Building.

12/8/2019 (Permalink)

Map of the State of Michigan Michigan is known for its cold and large snowfall winters.

Our winters here in Michigan often have a lot of factors that have major impacts on our roads, businesses and workplaces. They also have profound impacts on our homes, especially when the home has some issue that is occurring on a semi-regular basis.

The issues that occur most frequently include: broken pipes, broken hoses, roof leaks, water lines breaking, and plumbing issues. All of these issues are exacerbated when in the cold weather. During the winter months, we often see the most water damage in the December and January months.

Things you should watch for after a snowfall includes:

  • Cracks on walls or water marking.
  • Roofs starting to crack and paint peeling.
  • Making sure that the foundation is level and no cracks are apparent.

If your home, business or organization experiences flood activity, call in your local restoration experts at SERVPRO of Fraser. We have been serving the Fraser and outlying communities since 2009.
